The Interest-Free Banking & Finance Institute (IBFI) was setup in 2019 as a partnership between IOU and TTG, with a mandate to promote Islamic banking and provide human capital for the Islamic financial services industry in Ethiopia and the African market.

IBFI aspires to be the leading African institution for Islamic finance through providing excellent teaching, research and thought leadership to remove the current necessity for students in the continent to travel abroad in order to access quality education in this field. To achieve this vision, IBFI successfully bridges the gap between academia and industry.
